Booking Policy

When you buy a ticket on Tickets.CarcosaDreams.com, we authorise a charge against your credit or debit card, and within seven days we will accept or deny the booking which will either finalise the charge or drop it.

Deposits & Dropping Out

Part of your full payment, or the first of your part payments, will be counted as a deposit. In the event that you drop out of the event more than 4 weeks in advance, or we have to cancel it, we will refund up to the deposit, and the rest only if we can recover the cost (reselling the ticket, rescheduling the event).

If you cannot attend the event, please let us know and we will offer it to the waiting list, if applicable. If you have someone who wishes to buy your place, please let us know and we can transfer the ticket, assuming we can accept their booking (See below)

Part Payment

For most events we can offer part payment, where after an initial deposit the remaining balance can be paid off before the event. Full payment must be received six weeks before the first day of the event, or we will resell your ticket. You will be refunded part payments only if we successfully do so.

Concession Tickets

We do not validate concessions. If you would like to be considered for a concession ticket, note such on the booking form and we will let you know when concession tickets are available. More information on concession tickets can be found on the Pay It Forward expository page.

Denied Bookings

When we can’t accept your booking, we may not give you a reason. We aren’t obligated to. Even if we do give you a reason, we will not be drawn into a debate about it. Our decisions stand.

We reserve the right to deny booking to any person at any time for any reason. We run private events, we are not a public service, and we don’t owe anybody a place at an event we run.

If you are banned from the event, we will tell you. We will not tell anyone else who is and is not banned from our events. Restrictions on attendance of our events may be conditional on one or more such things as:

  • Time restriction (You are unable to attend for 1 year)
  • Campaign restriction (You cannot book for Forsaken events, but are welcome to attend T67)
  • Alternates (You may book each Even numbered Forsaken event, but not Odd numbered Forsaken events)

Avoiding Specific People

If there are people you are unwilling to attend an event with, we will do our best to accommodate that. Please let us know on your booking form.

Depending on the event, this may be – for a large scale event – represented by keeping your game and plot sufficiently separated that you are unlikely to interact to the best of our ability to do so.

For smaller scale events, or events where interaction is unavoidable, we will usually prioritise the earliest booking. Exceptions to this may be made when one person is an established character within the setting, or a long-standing member of crew, or other possibilities at our option.

Fastest-finger-wins is not an ideal solution to this problem, and where possible we will apply a different solution (as in our options above). Using our policies as an abuse vector against someone else is a bannable offense, where we can recognise it, but we cannot be a jury of social issues – we have none of the experience, the qualifications nor the desire – and we can only make decisions, so we do so guided (not ruled) by the concepts above.

These are specifically booking policies, for event policies please see our E&D policy on the main site.
